Admissions are based upon careful review of all credentials presented by the applicant. These applications will be considered without regard to race, gender, age, religion, marital status, physical disabilities, and national origin. All required admission documents should be submitted to the Office of Admissions. The University reserves the right to change its admissions policy without prior notice.

Eligibility
The candidate must have one of the following qualifications with an overall 2nd division or equivalent grade:

For the Bachelor’s Program

  1. Intermediate with certain required courses according to the chosen discipline of study.
  2. For A-levels students, the following criteria applies:
    • 3 full credit courses of A Levels or equivalent provided that the student has completed all the requirement of O level or equivalent.
    • All O & A level students are required to submit equivalent certificate within one month after admission.

For the Master’s Program

  1. 4 year Bachelor* degree from any HEC recognized university or equivalent (16 years education) with certain required courses according to the chosen discipline of study.
    *Please note that the University does not recognize two-year Bachelor programs. Students (with 2 years Bachelor program) will be required to fulfill all prerequisite courses and cannot request for waiver or transfer of courses.
  2. Certification from recognized university/ institution.

For Standing Admissions
(Transfer Students)

All potential students applying for transfer of credits must have been enrolled in an HEC recognized institution. Furthermore, they are required to fulfill and complete all admission requirements for their respective program. The following criteria will be used to assess the academic eligibility of transfer students:

  1. Duly completed Transfer of Credit form.
  2. Mark sheets/transcripts of current and previous academic work
  3. Course outlines for all courses that a student wants to be transferred.

All potential candidates are required to take the admission examination, unless they are transferring from another campus of Iqra University. For further information please refer to the academic policies.

Transfer Students
Credit for course work completed at another institution of higher learning is made solely at the discretion of Iqra University. The evaluation of any course work from another institution or organization will be based only on an official transcript and compatibility of course syllabus from the institution originally offering the course work. The following policies apply to all transfer students:

  1. Credit is not given for grades lower than a C+ or below 67%.
  2. Prospective transfer students must complete Iqra University’s entrance requirements.
  3. Grades from other institutions are not included in the calculation of Iqra University’s grade point average.
  4. Remedial, vocational, technical, highly specialized and personal development courses are not accepted for credit.
  5. All transfer courses from Polytechnic Institutions and foreign community colleges will be reviewed individually by the Head of the Department.
  6. For Transfer students, a maximum of 50% of coursework can be transferred
  7. Specialization courses at the Graduate level are not transferable to Iqra University.

Some academic programs have additional requirements for transfer students beyond general University policy. Students are advised to check with the Heads of Department to determine the acceptability of credit from other institutions. The Head of the Department determines applicability of transfer credit to a student’s academic curriculum.

Application
The fee of Rs. 1,500/- for the application packet can be paid in cash if collected in person. If requested by post, the fee should be sent in the form of Iqra University. Application can be downloaded from official Web Site of Iqra University (www.iqraisb.edu.pk). Application must be submitted before the deadline fixed by the University.

Application processing fee for PhD Programs is Rs. 2,000/-

Required Documents at the time of Admission
The following documents are required to be submitted at the time of Admission:

  1. 2 Recommendation letters either from an academic or professional source (applicable for Master students only).
  2. Attested mark sheets of all previously completed academic work.
  3. If a candidate has completed previous academic work from another education system, an Equivalence Certificate from the Inter Board Chairman Committee is required.
  4. 4 passport size photographs.
  5. Copy of National Identity Card and/or Form B.

Admissions Test
The admissions test are divided into three sections:

  1. Mathematics/Quantitative Analysis
  2. Analytical Skills
  3. English Language Comprehension and Proficiency

Iqra University provides students with all the necessary stationary for test, thus students don’t need to bring anything along with them. Any violation of instructions, including the prohibition of using calculators, will result in automatic disqualification of the candidate.

Qualifications required for Bachelor’s Programme:

  • Applicants should have minimum higher 2nd division in Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent from a recognized Institute/Board.
  • Applicants having “A” levels or other foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate issued by Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
  • For admission in B.E. an applicant must have:
    • At least 60% marks in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) Pre-Engineering Examination. An applicant having a combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Sciences is also eligible.
    • Or, GCE (A levels) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Applicants having A levels or other foreign qualifications must provide an equivalence certificate with at least 60% marks, issued by Intermediate Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
    • Or, At least 60% marks in Diploma of Associate Engineering Examination, for admission against reserved seats in the same discipline of Engineering in which he or she has passed the Diploma Examination.
  • The number of credit hours needed to be completed for the award of a degree will be according to the policies of the Higher Education Commission.

Qualifications Required for Masters Programme:

  1. Applicants (Iqra University Graduates) should have 70% or equivalent CGPA, others 3.0 GPA or Equivalent Percentage from recognized universities / degree awarding institutions in the eligibility education for a minimum duration of 14-years of schooling. In case Institutions mention both division and CGPA on the Degree / Transcript must meet either of the two conditions.
  2. The number of credit hours needed to be completed for the award of a degree will be according to the policies of the Higher Education Commission.

Qualifications Required for the M.Phil. Programme:

a)  Following applicants are eligible for admission in an M.Phil Programme:

i.        Old MBA/MPA/M.com/ICMA/ICA/B.com (4 years).

ii.        BBA 4-year programme with a minimum of 135 credit hours.

iii.        An applicant must have a minimum division or CGPA on a scale of 4 as prescribed by the HEC for admission to MPhil/MS Program.

iv.        GAT-General with a minimum 50% cumulative score will be required.

b)    Applicants should be from recognized universities / degree awarding institution.

c)    Institutions which mention both division and CGPA on the Degree / Transcript must meet either of the two conditions.

d)    Applicants having a foreign degree are required to provide the equivalence certificate from Higher Education Commission.

The number of credit hours needed to be completed for the award of a degree will be according to the policies of the Higher Education Commission. However IU may offer additional courses to replenish deficiencies.

Qualifications required for the PhD. Programme:

Following applicants are eligible for admission in a PhD. Programme:

For Ph.D in Business Administration:

  • MS/Mphil in the relevant field of study.
  • MBA with a minimum of 90 Credit hours (with 2 year bachelor’s programme) in the relevant field of study.
  • MBA with a minimum of 36 Credit hours (with 4 year bachelor’s programme) in the relevant field of study.
  • Minimum CGPA should be 3.0 on a scale of 4.
  • NTS GAT (Subject) with a minimum 60% marks ORGRE Subject Test conducted by the ETS with minimum 60% percentile Score
  • The number of credit hours needed to be completed for the award of a degree will be according to the policies of the Higher Education Commission.

For Ph.D in Computer Sciences:

  • MS/Mphil in Computer Sciences with a minimum of 36 credit hours out of which course work should be of 24 credit hours.
  • Minimum CGPA should be 3.0 on a scale of 4.
  • NTS GAT (Subject) with a minimum 60% marks ORGRE Subject Test conducted by the ETS with minimum 60% percentile Score
  • The number of credit hours needed to be completed for the award of a degree will be according to the policies of the Higher Education Commission.

Other Programmes:

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 18 years of relevant schooling from HEC recognized institutions.
  • The minimum CGPA should be 3.0 (on a scale of 4) in MS/Mphil/Equivalent Degree for admission into PhD.
  • NTS GAT (Subject) with a minimum 60% marks ORGRE Subject Test conducted by the ETS with minimum 60% percentile Score
  • The number of credit hours needed to be completed for the award of a degree will be according to the policies of the Higher Education Commission.
  1. The application for credit transfer will be submitted by the student on a required form supported by the following document.
  1. The course outline and teaching plan of the course that was completed in a different University/Institution and which is being nominated for credit transfer.
  2. The course contact hours and the name of the faculty who taught the course along with the relevant grades.
